Renee Segler McDaniel’s Cancer Treatment

Hello prayer warriors, friends and family❤️ We have started this fund to benefit our aunt, Renee Segler McDaniel, who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in December of 2019. At that time the cancer had also spread to her lymph nodes and liver and she had surgery the day after Christmas to remove the large tumor. Her surgeon also found that the tumor was blocking some of her colon and lymph nodes which made it impossible to remove all of the cancer. Since the beginning of this year she has been exploring alternative treatments. Although the cancer hasn’t seemed to grow too rapidly, they did find a new spot on her lung and additional lymph nodes on her most recent scan. She decided it was time to aggressively fight the cancer. Traditional chemo hasn’t been in the cards for her but she has been doing research on a clinic in Nevada that uses insulin to direct the chemo to the cancer cells and prevent destruction of good cells. Renee and her family traveled to Nevada this week where she will begin her targeted chemo treatment at a clinic in Reno. This treatment will last for a total of 3 weeks. Because this treatment is not covered by insurance, her medical bills will prove to be substantial. Her daily cost of treatment is roughly $2,000 per day and will last for a total of 3 weeks, not to mention the cost of necessities while staying in Reno.
