Lisa's Medical Fund

Hi everyone, my name is Leila Haston, and I am the very blessed daughter of Lisa Foster.
My mom has always been the type of person to put others before herself and go out of her way to help in any way possible. When she saw the chance to take care of someone after her parents had passed, she was so excited and knew this was the answer to her prayers.
She enjoyed taking care of our Uncle Gerald and wanted to make the last years of his life on this earth happy and help him find a relationship with God.
My mom is one of the most Christain ladies' I have ever known, she truly loves the Lord and is thankful for each and every day that he gives her.
On Wednesday, April 27th, my mom and Uncle Gerald went to the funeral home in Smithville, TN to the visitation for his brother; they had a pretty normal day, came home, took showers, and went to their separate rooms. About 10:00pm he opened her bedroom door and started shooting at her. The first bullet hit her headboard, the second (fragmenting as soon as it came out of the barrel) grazed her head, and the third went in her back and the fragments are still in her left arm. She tried to fight him and get the gun but she knew there was no way, something told her to just get out of there. She took off running to the front door, unlocked two doors, and yelled out for her little dog Sparkie. She grabbed him up and took off running down the road to a neighbors' house. They called 911 and the police came and had a standoff with Uncle Gerald for about two hours, unfortunately he ended up taking his own life.
Mom was transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga via Life Flight.
I received the phone call about 4:00am questioning how I knew Lisa, where I lived and if I could meet them or if they could come to my house. Those 45 minutes it took them to get to my house, were the longest and most agonizing minutes in my life. I was so releaved when they told me she was ok, but the news of her being shot, completely shocked me. This woman is my world! It seemed like it took me forever to get to her at the hospital and the whole time I had to keep stopping myself from dialing her number. She is the one person that I always call when something good, bad, or just when something happens period, not being able to call her almost killed me. As soon as we got there and we got to see her, she opened her eyes and started squalling; I would be lying if I said there was a dry in the room. Me and my brother have never been more thankful and just overwhelmed with joy than that very moment.
She done so great in the hospital that she was released that next day, Friday, April 29th, plus I am sure the whole "no insurance" thing helped play a role in their decision to send her home. As of now we have been home a few short days, I have took off work (for as long as need be) to help bathe her, cook for her, clean house, run errands, and help assist her to the bathroom. My brother has also took off work to help and we have had multiple friends and family cook dinners, donate money, and visit. We are so very appreciative of every little and big thing everyone has done for us. God was with my mom that night and we are now asking for prayers for her recovery and help with her medical bills, as we know they will not be cheap. If you can spare any please help us out, your kindness will not go unnoticed and we will forever be grateful. God bless you all. You can keep up with my mom on my FaceBook page, I try to post updates daily.
