Covid-19 Support for Ethiopians in Tri-State Area

Dear Friends, COVID-19 is a global pandemic and has adversly affected and devastated millions around the world including the Ethiopian diaspora community in our tri state area (Philadelphia, Delaware, and New Jersey). Many of our fellow Ethiopians, particularly those that lost their jobs because of Covid-19, the unemployed, the elderly, those with health issues and those that have young children and not eligible to get federal and state benefits are suffering from lack of food, medicine and left with no means to support their family. Many in our community worked in customer service, hospitality, travel industries and were laid off with no immediate prospect of going back to work. Everything from basics like food, emergency assistance to pay for rent is urgently needed. Those that are sick could not pay for their medicine. Others who are elderly and do not have family or friends nearby are particularly suffering with no source of income or help. While there are many ongoing efforts to help those who are affected by Covid-19 in Ethiopia, many of our diaspora brothers and sisters are also suffering right here in the Philadelphia tri state area and are in need of our urgent help. All proceeds will be donated to individuals and families most in need in the community. This fundrasing and the proceeds is audited and managed by a licensed accountant.
