Help First Responders Save Their Chance @ a Family

Donation protected
Hello Family, Friends, Loved Ones, and Kind People.

First off we would like to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read our story and the struggles we are facing. Life is kinda crazy for a lot of people in this day and age. So thank you for your time, prayers, contributions and positive thoughts.

We are, Sha Elmer and K.C. Garrison. We are both first responders for San Juan County, NM, and are requesting your help in our time of need.

I (Sha), have had a rough few years with multiple medical issues. In more detail I have Endometriosis and polycystic ovaries. In 2017, I needed to have a hysterectomy, which my doctor and I hoped would fix the problems I was experiencing. Unfortunately the hysterectomy did not solve the issue. As the condition worsened my right ovary was removed in July of 2019, along with an endometrioma that was just over 9cm in diameter. (An endometrioma is made up of endometrial tissue that creates a cyst.) Almost one year later I was experiencing extreme pain. I went to the hospital and found out that there are now complications with my only remaining ovary. Two cysts have developed on my left ovary that are currently 3.2 x 2.8cm and the other is 2.7 x 2.6cm. Therefore removal is needed as soon as possible to decrease the threat of blood loss. If either cyst bursts, it can damage the ovary and can cause blood loss, also I would lose the ovary, along with the possibility for us to ever have children of our own.

I (K.C.) am a Volunteer FireFighter with District 6 in San Juan County, NM. I am also on the Wild Land team and plan on becoming an EMT in the next 2 years. Eventually I will become a career FireFighter, but need to give back to my community for several years due to the County providing my certifications and training. I met Sha, the love of my life, over 1 year ago and plan on marrying her within the next year. She is everything I could ever ask for in a woman. She is kind, generous, loving, smart and very compassionate. My love for her grows everyday. In the hard times we become stronger, and in the easy times we get to enjoy each other thoroughly. As we grow with one another, we see a family and children to raise. I personally have always wanted to be a father, and I know Sha has always wanted to have children of her own. As we look forward we also see that this is going to be one of the biggest challenges of both our lives.

I (Sha), am an EMT for our local hospitals' ambulance service. I am working to become a paramedic and then on to a flight medic. I met this amazing, kind, incredibly driven man that I fell in love with from the first second we met for the second time, I will explain more, just keep reading. We first met more than ten years ago through a mutual friend, nothing ever came of it and we both went our separate ways out into the world, and lived our twenties to the fullest. Learning from the people around us and making mistakes of our own that taught us life isn't always easy. We made something of ourselves and then realized what we really wanted in life was to settle down, start a career of giving back to our fellow humans, as well as raise a family. I moved back home in 2014, and K.C. moved back in 2019. Two weeks after K.C. came back, we ran into each other at this same mutual friends' house from the ten plus years earlier. Fate had everything to do with us being in the same place at the same time, looking for the same things out of life. I am so excited to marry this man in the next year and see where our adventure takes us next.

With the current medical issues we are facing, we are meeting with a fertility center on Monday, July 20th 2020. this appointment is to have all the tests and lab work done to find out what approach the fertility Doctor will be taking to harvest our eggs. Insurance does not cover infertility. This is not considered to be a medical necessity, but for us a baby would mean the world. We have to harvest the eggs and have them fertilized and then frozen. This procedure will cost $20,000.00. THe eggs will then be stored at a cryo bank, this allows us to save up the funds for the next step which is surrogacy and Implantation. Implantation per embio will cost $7,000.00. By having the eggs harvested and having the doctors fertilize the eggs before freezing them, gives us a higher chance of viability for the surrogate. This is our last chance at the possibility of having a child of our own DNA. Even if we only have one child of our own DNA, and all the rest of our future children do not, we do not want this opportunity to pass us by. We hope, wish, dream, and pray to be parents and raise our children to have kind hearts, compassion for others, and always know family will be there and is forever.

PLEASE look into your heart, as we do, and find the strength to help your fellow man and woman. Your contribution will help us save our last chance at having a baby of our own, and change our lives for the better forever!

Thank you again for your time, thoughts, prayers, and contributions. We are forever grateful.
