Help bring Jazmin home & recover

Donation protected
On the afternoon of July 13th, 2020, Jazmin Torres, the youngest daughter of Carrie Decker, was in a tragic dirtbike accident. She was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center and then was transported to Westchester Medical Center where she is undergoing surgery on her spine. Jazmin fractured several vertebrae as well as several ribs and has a punctured lung. The doctors have informed her family she will be paralyzed from the chest down and it is unrepairable. After spending a long period of time at the hospital, she will be transported to a rehabilitation center where she will learn new skills before she eventually will be able to return home. Anyone who knows Jazmin knows she is a stubborn, free-spirit. The weekend before her accident, she spent four days at her favorite family motocross track preparing for a race event, helping anyone who needed something, as well as flagging for the race. The day after the race, she decided to get up early and go back up to the track to pick up all the garbage and clean up any messes. After working so hard all week, she finally took some time to enjoy herself and rode her favorite quad. She then decided to ride a dirt-bike, which she was still learning. Unfortunately, she had this tragic accident, but she was doing what she loved which was riding around. Jazmin’s family has started this page as a way to help ease some of the pain and stress along this long road to recovery. The money raised will go to current and future medical expenses that are not covered by insurance. It will also go towards equipment she will need to live a life that will be her new normal, which will include a wheelchair as well as a hospital bed. In addition to these things, Jazmin’s home is currently not equipped for a child with a wheelchair. Renovations such as adding a ramp, widening her doorway, and knocking down a wall to make the bathroom accessible to her will all have to occur before she is able to come home. As they try and prepare for this difficult road ahead, Jazmin’s parents, Carrie and Tom Decker, as well as her sisters, Baylee Monaco and Christina Avery, would appreciate any help and support. Anything donated will go directly to improving Jazmin’s quality of life as she tries to find a new normal after this accident.
