The First Assata’s Baby Needs Some Love

Hey everyone my name is Jawanna. I’m a 22 year old activist of Assata’s Daughters and single mother from Chicago. During my pregnancy my job gave me 10-12 hours a week and when I became 7 months pregnant they stopped putting me on the schedule. I was at first denied unemployment because my job lied and said I didn’t return to work. My son was born In January and they didn’t let me return to work. When they were about to let me, COVID came and they haven’t let me return to work since. My son is 6 months and I have been doing everything I can to provide for him with no job. I have been applying places and still haven’t been hired. I need some community support and love to get us an apartment and the stuff he needs.
