Kaleigh's Medical Fund

On April 11th my lifelong friend Stephane and her husband Shawn Leighton received the most devastating news a parent can hear.  At only 11 years of age,  their daughter Kaleigh was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. This type of cancer is so rare, there are hardly any studies on it.  The cancer is located in her parotid gland on her right side of her face. Thankfully, the doctors were able to completely remove the gland after a 7 hour surgery at UCSF on May 4th. We are praying the cancer does not return. Please continue to keep the Leighton family in your thoughts and prayers as there is a long road ahead, physically, emotionally and financially.


Unfortunately this is not the only bad news the Leighton family recently received. In the same month Kaleigh was diagnosed, so was her father Shawn. Doctors told Shawn he has an 80-90% chance of having Thyroid cancer. Shawn has delayed his own treatment to care for his daughter and continues to work to provide for his family he loves so dearly.  Having both daughter and husband going through this horrific tragedy this defiantly taking a toll on the Leighton family.
