Emergency Car Repair Funds

Hi everyone! We are Lincoln and Lauren, newlyweds and college students! Lincoln is an American citizen that has followed Lauren up to the beautiful province of Newfoundland. This month, we finally got married after living long-distance for most of our relationship. In under three weeks, we are planning to move across the country to attend university. Lincoln will be studying psychological studies in education at a master's level with the AIDAN Lab at the University of Alberta, studying validity in psychometric assessments for autistic individuals, a subject he has been working on and passionate about for years. Lauren will be studying theatre and education for a double bachelor's program also at the University of Alberta to continue her lifelong love of musical theatre and teaching school-aged children.

While getting some repairs on our vehicle, the mechanics found way more problems than we planned. About 3x the cost of what was originally quoted. While we had prepared for our move to Alberta, this was beyond what we could have expected to pay financially. To have our car in working condition to move from Newfoundland to Alberta, we are clearing most of our emergency savings and money that would have gone toward our tuition and general living expenses as students.
