Svetlana's Battle
Donation protected
Anyone who has ever had the pleasure of meeting Svetlana, knows that she is one of the most kindhearted, selfless people out there. She is an amazing mom and stepmom to Veronika, Elita, Katie and Kristina and a loving wife to Victor. She truly is just an all-around incredible person, our family's rock, always going out of her way for others. Her constant enthusiasm and positivity is truly contagious. On February 19th she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within weeks, this diagnosis led to a series of doctor appointments and surgeries and most recently a full one side mascectomy. It has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, but we truly believe that it has brought all of us closer together.
The prognosis is keeping us positive though and full of hope. Svetlana's doctors have confirmed that while she will need to go through a year of chemotherapy, raditation won't be necessary which has been some of the best news our family has heard in weeks. We could not be more grateful that this was caught early on, before it could spread farther and that she has been in the care of some fantastic doctors. It has however been both emotionally and financially draining for our family, especially since Svetlana has not been able to return to work. Given that all of this happened so suddenly and quickly, our family has been not financially prepared to bear this burden in such a short amount of time.
We would be forever grateful if you would consider donating to help alleviate some of the costs that we have been facing and will face in the next year as Svetlana goes into chemo starting in June. Even if you're unable to contibute, we would be so thankful if you could share this with others. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!
With love,
- The Shigaeva Family (Kristina, Veronika, Elita, Katie, Viktor and Svetlana)
