My brother Mitchell is a great guy.
He was born legally blind, and in his life he had faced a rare eye disorder called aniridia, as well as glaucoma and cataracts in both eyes,
Despite the challenges he has always faced, he has always excelled in anything he put his heart into. As a teen that was sports.
His focus changed and he now has a passion for the medical field. An obsession really. Mitchell is a paramedic, who works for various organizations providing medical coverage of events at Bc place and other private functions as well. He also has provided training and instruction to many other people in basic to advanced first aid. He cares about helping people.
Last night he was VOLUNTEERING, his time ( as he often does) to an event where his backpack was stolen. Inside he had his glasses, (which prescription is extremely hard to make, and glasses cost $1200, as well as iPad and iPod, and expensive medical equipment he had paid for. His iPad is important because the large font is a great asset.
Nobody deserves to be ripped off, but whoever took his bag doesn't realize the effect this would have on Mitch.
Insurance will cover the losses from the sounds of if, but we are hoping that a few who know Mitch's generosity will be willing to give a little to cover the deductible to cover this, which is 500.00.
