Jasmine's Medical Expense

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

This Go Fund Me account is for one of the most beautiful and selfless women I know; I call her bestie - most of you simply know her as Jasmine. Below, you will find a cliff-note version of her life the last couple of months.

But first, a little history!

I have had the honor of knowing Jasmine since I was 12 years old (we are now both 24.) Ever since I can remember Jasmine has always been the independent one; working since age 15, paying her own bills, and putting herself through college - these are just a few of the many tasks I have witnessed her accomplish with sucsess on her own.  In October of 2015 Jasmines grandma fought and unfortuntely lost a battle to cancer. After her Grams passing, Jasmine decided that it would be best for her to leave her apartment and move back in with her grandpa to be with him during this time. She has since been living with him, helping him in any way possible.

That brings us to March 2nd, 2016 -
During a routine trip to the OBGYN for a check up: it was brought to her attention after a blood test that her prolactin levels were abnormally high. Normally, in women this hormone level should range between 3 and 18; Jasmine was showing a level of 753. She was told by her doctor that this meant one of two things: either, her pituitary gland was working improperly or that there was a tumor pressing on that gland.
On March 12th, 2016 a MRI confirmed, there was in fact a macroadenoma tumor growing and pressing on her pituitary glad causing her body not to receive vital hormones every women needs to grow and develope. It is still not confirmed how long the tumor has been there for.
I remember the day she shared this heartwretching news with me. My response to her (as always) was positive and as uplifting as I could muster in that moment. But the truth is, I cried. Nothing else in that moment mattered more then the health of my sister. I cried that night and I've cried every night since. I've cried tears or anger, of pure sadness, tears of fear, and tears of joy; when realizing how truly blessed I've been to call her my best friend for all these years and for future years to come. But, with each morning came joy and positivity that WE would get through this.
Her doctor referred her to a specialist at the Barrows Neurological Institue and on March 24th, 2016 she met with her nerosurgeon along with an endocrinologist. Together, the three of them quickly decided that surgery was the best option.
May 12th, 2016 we head to the Barrows institute for Jasmine's surgery. She will be spending up to 4 days at the hospital post surgery and out of work for up to 6 weeks after she gets home. Unfortunately, she is not covered for medical leave through her insurance.
Jasmine is always putting others before herself and is to prideful and stubborn to ask for help. Thankfully, I am not! I cannot afford to help her financial the way I wish I could and I don't know anyone more deserving of the love and support from you. All I want is for my best friend to have peace of mind. To be able to focus solely on getting healthy and not just getting back to work.
Please keep her in your prayers as she continues to fight though this season of her life.

Thank you everyone who has blessed her by donating.

Love,
Chelsea
