Support for Amelia and Nora

Marie and I (Justin) have some very sad news to share. Our beautiful identical twin daughters, Amelia Katherine and Nora Diana were diagnosed with twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) on Wednesday, August 17th 2016. There is only one real treatment available and so we went up to Minneapolis to have a Fetoscopic laser photocoagulation. We were told the surgery went well and we had the overwhelming faith we would indeed meet our beautiful daughters.
About a week after the surgery our little Amelia Katherine was taken to heaven at just 19 weeks old. She is truly so beautiful and such a strong fighter. She fought this terrible disease until the end. Her ultimate sacrifice was allowing her sister, Nora Diana, to have a fighting chance. Nora was not out of the woods and we are were told the next 3 weeks were a critical time for her. She was closely monitored and it looked like we were going to meet our Nora. On Tuesday, Sept 6th 2016, I came into the bedroom and was feeling my wife’s stomach as Nora was showing us her small little feet. She was always very active during the numerous ultrasounds. This made it almost impossible for the ultrasound techs to get the measurements they needed.
On Thursday, Sept 08, 2016 we went in for a routine ultrasound, but the news broke our hearts. Our sweet little Nora Diana had joined her angel sister, Amelia Katherine, in heaven. No words can describe how we feel.
At 7:30pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016, we will be admitted to the hospital to deliver our beautiful twin daughters. We will say hello and goodbye to our baby girls in one day. With heavy and sad hearts, we will cherish these brief moments with our girls for a life time while wanting so much more with them! This terrible disease has taken so much from our daughters, our family and our future. My wife has been incredibly strong throughout all of this.
Marie and I have created this GoFundMe page to try and help reduce the financial burdens that we accumlated for the out of network surgery that was needed for giving our daughters a chance at life. We truly appreciate any support that you can give us. If nothing else, please continue to say a prayer or send loving and supportive thoughts to our daughters Amelia and Nora.
