Help Makenna Heal

Monday April 18th started out like any normal day for Makenna Bruick, she woke up walked her seven month old puppy, had a healthy smoothie and got ready for a continuing education course at Pure Aveda Salon where she works in Mount Dora FL.    Makenna woke up eager to learn the technique for a new color application at Pure Aveda left her apartment and headed off to work on her bicycle for her normal ten minute two mile bike ride to work. Her class went great and she was so excited and proud about what she learned in the salon that day. She said goodbye to her coworkers and began to head home on her bicycle to enjoy the rest of her day with her boyfriend and puppy.
      That's when things took a turn for the worse. On Makenna's way home she was struck by a Mount Dora patrol car and thrown several feet into the street. Makenna was air lifted immediately to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she is being treated for a lower baseline skull fracture, terrible abrasions on her body and spells of confusion and fogged memory.
      Makenna is a fighter though and has a relentless work ethic, this will be a long road and a hard recovery but she will make it through this. During Makenna's healing process she will be unable to work so we humbly ask for support from friends and strangers through this hard time to help with all of her medical bills including her Life Flight, Hospital Stay, CT Scans, and Physical Therapy.
