Hi, I'm Stephanie Bassett daughter of Andy Bassett.
Andy has recently had a sudden and severe life change; and is now paralyzed from her waist down. This sudden neurological disorder (possibly transverse myelitis) happened without pretense or warning. Andy went from an ICU Nurse taking care of others to relying on others for her most basic needs including; bathing, positioning and bathroom needs.
Thankfully, Andy is incredibly motivated and is working diligently with therapy to help regain and recover some of her body functions back. She works with amazing therapists several hours a day who help her learn how to live life from a wheelchair. We do not know how much function she will regain of her lower body if any. However, we are continuously hoping for the best, that someday she may be able to walk again.
This would mean the world to my family and I, as we have been handling this the best way we can. However, any assistance you can provide would help alleviate the mounting financial burden. If you decide to help us, the funds will be used for the immediate need of ensuring Andy’s transition from rehab to home. In the long term, funds will be used to help pay for medical expenses and other financial items as needed.
Please, any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through gofundme.
