Pedro’s Brian Cancer Fight

Pedro has been fighting terminal brain cancer for over 4 years. He has had a round of Radiation, 3 gamma knife procedures, chemo infusion, and 5 brain surgeries. Each time the tumor has grown back more aggressively. Pedros right arm has been paralyzed since his last surgery in September 2019. That surgery was over 15 hours long. After that surgery, he was in the hospital for 77 days. He developed several issues such as hydrocephalus (swelling on the brain), staphylococcus meningitis, and Ventriculitis (inflammation of the ventricles of the brain). Currently, Pedro has to travel from Spokane to Seattle (over 4+ hours) every 2 weeks for chemo infusion. Recently, Pedros right leg has become paralyzed and he is having a harder time communicating. Melissa has been there with him the entire time and had taken time off from work in September for Pedros surgery. She stayed by his side the whole time he was in the hospital. Now with Pedros health declining, she is taking time once again from work to care for him on a continued basis. The family would love to be able to bring Pedro back to California for one more visit with his extended family (some whom he hasn’t seen in over 20 years) to try to make some memories.
