Help Lilly the beagle with heart surgery

Hello everyone.
We are the owners of Charlie and Lilly the beagles.
We can't longer hide that our Lilly is sick. We always said Lilly has a huge heart in a little body but we didn't know how accurate this statement was.
Around 6 weeks ago, we saw very different Lillys behaviour after her walks and runs with Charlie. She was so tired so we could see her heart beating so hard. Even shorts walks were scary, as she was coming back so tired. We took her to Veterinary clinic straight away. Vet told us she has heart murmar and was prescribed Vetmedin 5mg take twice a day. We went for check up again in 2 weeks, they did quick scan and book her for proper scan under anaesthesia. This is when we found out she has enlarged heart. We got referral letter to Cork city Gilabbey Veterinary hospital to meet cardiologist from Nothern Ireland.
Today (18.08.2020) we went to see cardiologist and Lilly was diagnosed with PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus), the heart defect dogs can be born with. But wecame back from the hospital with good news! As going there, we thought, we will come back with same news we knew already. BUT she can be cured! Doctor also said she is lucky girl as she lived with this condition for 3 years, without signs, as usually these problems comes out with first puppy check ups.
Veterinary doctor had 3 options:
1) To keep her on medication for the rest of the life, but with possibility of heart failure anytime.
2) Open chest surgery with 15% of risk of internal bleeding and minimum of of week in hospital.
3) Plugging ( the technique used most commonly is placement of blood cloth device across the vessel) and with only 2 days stay in hospital.
We knew our decision straight away, but we also asked what is the safest for our Lilly and Veterinary doctor recommended the 3rd option, and doctor said she will live a happy life without medication after it, unfortunately its the most expensive option and its 6 hours drive from our home (Belfast, Nothern Ireland), where we would have to stay, be near her and collect her as soon as it will be possible.
With all the Covid19 situation, no childcare for our kids, Julia had to stay at home since all this started, what brought us to this situation with trying to set up this page.
We know how hard life is now for everyone, we do not expect a lot, but every little helps in this situation ❤
❤ Lilly healed our broken hearts when we needed it the most and now is the time to do the same for her, our fur baby ❤
