24 Hour Care for Dorothy aka GG, Gram, Aunt Dor

As everyone is aware, Dorothy Nichols (aka GG, Mom, Gram, Aunt Dorothy ) is now 99 years old and in hospice care at the green cottage on Paw Paw Lake.

She is bed ridden and requires 24/7 care. However she has wonderful moments of lucidity almost daily and still has that spunky flare. We have avoided putting her in a nursing facility per her wishes and due to Covid 19. Her eldest son, Bill Nichols, is her main care giver current but it’s an all day everyday thing. In addition, the rest of the family is spending an extraordinary amount of time and effort keeping an eye on her, helping with daily needs, and all the other things that come up. For everyone’s assistance....we are extremely grateful. 
With permission from my father, Uncle Ray, and Aunt Judy, I’ve been asked to start a page to help them with some of the financial burdens that come with 24/7 care.  Much of “hospice”itself is covered under the state plan, but it does not cover daily caregivers or over night “sitters”. 

Recently, many family members and friends of Dorthy have asked how they can “help” and have offered to donate to the cause. With so many grandkids, great grandkids, and countless folks she has brought joy to, surely we can pitch in to make her as comfortable as possible. Please consider this page the new “money jar”. Again this fund will be specifically for 24/7 care for Dorothy.
