Reimburse 24 Kitchen Street for their £1000 Fine

We are a new Liverpool dance music event under the name 'Glass', and we have been lucky enough to have been asked to play at Kitchen Street a couple of times and are long time customers ourselves of the venue. The money raised from this will go directly to Kitchen Street to help gain back the money lost from their recent fine.
On 2nd October 2020, the Baltic Triangle Based Nightclub, 24 Kitchen Street, was hit with a completely unjustified and unreasonable fine of £1000 for ‘failure to comply with COVID restrictions’. A picture was also circulated by the police, newspapers and council of people congregating and dancing in large numbers with social distancing being neglected.
In actual fact, the fine was issued due to a police officer noticing a couple of customers not wearing their Face Mask, and the aforementioned picture circulated was from 2017. It is completely unfair to expect any venue to be able to monitor each and every customer at all times, especially when most shops in Liverpool, and the rest of the country for that matter, have a large number of staff and customers who do not wear face masks and walk away fine free.
The club have already struggled this year, as the new nearby residential scheme has been given permission to use below-spec windows which will not be able to keep the noise out once tenants move in and thus ensuring legally backed noise complaints are to come, putting the already well-established 7 year old venue into further difficulty. This new fine is not only the council trying to set an example to the nightlife industry, but also a further kick in the teeth to what is without a doubt one of the most important spaces in Liverpool’s Dance & Arts Scene.
Please spare a couple of quid to help out this amazing venue and send a message that this recent act by the council is unfair and wrong.
