24,000 Burpees In 24 Hours
Donation protected
Get Going Personal Training will be attempting a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD of 24,000 BURPEES in 24 HOURS as a pair, an attempt to raise a minimum of $24,000 for the Mental Health Charity - livin.org
Exercise is a massive part of all our lives here at Get Going Personal Training, we understand the hugely positive effects it has on our mental health.
Our motivation lies in raising awareness about mental health issues. We plan to do this by pushing ourselves into something so mentally challenging, so we know what it feels like to battle something both in our mind and our body.
The charity we are raising money for is called: LIVIN
Their vision is: 'Breaking the stigma of mental health'.
LIVIN was founded in honour of a great man Dwayne Lally who like many others took his life after suffering in silence from a mental illness.
Their motto is #itaintweaktospeak .
This is something that really resonates with us, especially as males, because too often there is an underlying expectation in society that it is not 'masculine' to show or express emotion.
We want to destroy this unhealthy stigma.
The statistics (in Australia):
8-10 people take their life every single day.
1 in 5 people go through a mental health illness in any one year.
