Brian's fund for a service dog

Hello I am Brian Schaefering a retired NFL player. Im going to be honest with you all. Unfortunately I suffer from what many retired Players suffer from but are too afraid to admit. Due to my many blessed years playing football I now have brain damage. Doctors have diagnosed me with TBI (traumatic Brain Injury),  depression, anxiety(PTSD), memory loss, and I struggle a great deal with chronic pain daily. As many of you who are aware of the headlines and movies surrounding football and its connection to brain trauma these are signs of possibly having CTE. I visited a facility for others with brain damage and while yes I take tons of meds and see tons of doctors weekly the only thing that was a true help was Sage another patients service dog who lived with us at the facility. She sensed to help me when no one could and Sage knew exactly what to do to calm my mind and center me. Doctors and therapists have recommend I get a service dog. But due to our finances being tied in our family and medical expenses which I do have to cover certain treatments and therapy myself I dont have needed funds.  So here is the reasoning of my GoFundMe account. The donated money will be used to purchase the dog as well as start the obediance training getting the dog ready for the service training once he turns one year old.  Since I am not veteran it is much more difficult  for me to accomplish and the wait time would be around 5 years.  Due to my stature I would require a dog large enough to help me with some of my stability issues and most service breeders dont have larger dogs. With this all said I want to heal my ailments as much as I can and give my family back their father and my wife back her husband.
