Muhammed Tariq Urgent Appeal
Donation protected
Muhammed Tariq is my wife's uncle. He lives in Faisilabad, Pakistan. He was diagnosed with cancer in his leg 7 years ago, the end result of the cancer was he had to have his leg amputated. The cost for the operation at the time was around 100,000 Rs (approx £665). Being very poor to start with, Muhammed Tariq and his wife spent their savings, and the little income they get from their small shop run from their home (mainly run by Tariq's wife), to have the leg amputated and save Tariq's life.
Unfortunately now, history has repeated itself, and Tariq has been diagnosed with cancer in his other leg. Now they don't have any money or means to have the other leg amputated. The leg has started to rot and decay and gives Tariq an immense amount of pain beyond our comprehension. Doctors have recommended he has his leg removed without delay, but without the funds for the operation, and the medication, they cannot begin to even start to think about this.
The little income they did make from the shop has also deteriorated as Tariq's wife now tends to him more than the shop.
The costs they have received from hospitals to have the leg amputated vary from 100,000 - 150,000 Rs (£665-1000). This is not including the cost of any medication he may require after the op.
God willing, should the operation be successful, I would like for Tariq to have at least 1 prosethic leg to at least keep himself mobile (the cost of which I'm needing to find out - but that is not the priority at this moment in time).
To top all this off, Tariq's wife suffers from Hepatitis B. Again, they cannot afford the correct treatment.
I am aiming to raise £2000 initially (approx 300,000 Rs) to cover the cost of the operation for Tariq to have his cancerous leg amputated, any post op medication which may be required, and hopefully have his wife recieveing the correct course of treatment for her Hepatitis B.
All I ask of you is ... No, I URGE YOU to donate £10 each. You will be helping giving a loving husband and wife their lives back on track.
Mr and Mrs Tariq are 2 of the most beautiful, humble, generous people I've ever met. Even when I visited their house on my last visit to Pakistan, they put anything they had in front of us and insisted that we eat their offering, knowing that they barely have enough for themselves. It's true when they say that those who have the least are prepared to give the most.
Thank you.
