Women's and Girl's Sewing Circle
Donation protected
Living in Baltimore can be a challenge in itself. Our children in Mc Elderry Park were living in a food desert. So in summer 2016 we started a lunch program coupled with free books. We received a small grant from the Annie E. Casey Foundation along with donations from neighbors which helped us to feed over 30 children for 6 weeks. We thought about what else we could do in our community to make it a better place to live. Someone said..."lets start a sewing club.." So this year we launched Unique Fabrics Women and Girl's Sewing Program. We believe that each participant is Unique and brings value to the program. Amazing Grace Lutheran Church graciously provided us with in-kind space to get started, but we need your help to grow into a year round resource for more of our neighbors. With the additional funds we can expand to 2 days per week as we are only one day per week; plus we can add a 6 week summer employment program for young girls. We are working to obtain a permanent location to expand our services for our neighbors such as a "drop in center" where women can come just take a load off. Thank You for all Your Support...Mary
