Whitney Watkins and Jordyn Watkins will have the amazing privilege and honor to compete against the world's best jumpers this summer at the 2016 World Jump Rope Competition in Braga, Portugal.
This is Whitney's 9th and senior year in the sport of competition jump roping and on her beloved team, the Bouncing Bulldogs. She will embark on her next journey in life as she starts college this fall at Meredith College- Raleigh, N.C.
Jordyn will start her sophmore year at Woods Charter School- Chapel Hill, N.C. without her sisters Whitney and Jessica by her side. With her tears, there will come moral strength and a determination to go forward to succeed on her own.
But for now, they are training seven days a week in their quest for perfection. Most of their days start around 5:00 am or should I say our days. When they say it takes a village, it does. I want to thank my Chatham county carpool parents for everything they do on a daily basis to make this all possible.
We are asking for help to send Whitney and Jordyn to Portugal. We are asking $4000 to cover their travel, lodging and competition fees. I know this is a lot to ask, but "we know with God, all things are possible". Thanks in advance and I hope you will watch the live webcasts of the competition this summer.
