Save Eileen and her family from the war in Gaza

Welcome from the afflicted Gaza to the peoples of the world and those with compassionate hearts.

My name is Luay Nizar Al-helou. Fourth-level trade graduate at the University of Palestine. The father of a girl like an angel named Eileen is 3 years old. My family and I represent one peaceful family living in the Al-Twam area of the Gaza Strip. Before the war, we were a happy family, although we lived in constant anxiety about unemployment and the difficulty of living.

On October 7, our lives changed completely. We were living in a beautiful house filled with love and warmth, my wife, my daughter Eileen, and my family. Our home reflected years of work and effort, and was our safe haven in a turbulent world.

In one moment, the Zionist Israeli war of extermination began against us.

We were forced to leave our home and flee from it.

It was a pang in our hearts as we left our home, our dreams, and unforgettable memories.

From here began the process of displacement and searching for a safe place and escaping death to preserve our lives.

The first displacement
There was no time to think or grieve. We had to flee quickly, carrying whatever belongings and memories we could. We left with thousands of families, searching for a safe place. We headed to our relatives' homes, hoping to find some safety there, but the war was chasing us wherever we went.

Displacement after displacement
Whenever we found shelter, the bombing would follow us. Time after time, we were forced to leave the place and search for another. We no longer knew where to go, and displacement became part of our daily lives. We carried nothing but the clothes we had on us.

Life in a Tent
Now, we live in a small tent in the middle of a crowded displacement camp. No privacy, no comfort. The heat during the day burns us, and the cold at night creeps into our bones. We try to adapt, but life in a tent is not life. The usual question every day: "When will we go back home?" And we have no answer.

Memories of Home
I can't forget the house we lived in. It was full of memories: family laughter, evenings we spent together, and corners that witnessed the most beautiful moments of our lives. Now, when I look around, I see nothing but destruction, and every time I close my eyes, I imagine our home as it was, before the war took everything.

Dreaming of Return
Despite everything, I try to hold on to hope. I tell myself that this nightmare will end one day. I dream of building a new house, even if it is small, to be a shelter for my family. I want to see my family smile again.

Life in war has destroyed a lot, but it has not destroyed our will. We live in harsh conditions now, but we are still together, and this gives me the strength to continue. They may have taken our home, but they will not take away our dream of a better tomorrow.
