**My mother is currently at Beaumont Royal Oak- in the ICU unit. Her house has been foreclosed on and will be auctioned off to be sold September 20th, 2016 at the Oakland Country courthouse in Pontiac, Mi. (She may be homeless once she is discharged from the hospital) **
In July of 2016 my mother was admitted into the hospital at St John Providence due to having a collapsed lung. She had a procedure done and was getting better, but due to the negligence of the hospital she contracted a staph infection that entered her blood stream.
After several weeks of the staph infection being antibiotic resistant and her health declining, we decided to take her to Beaumont Royal Oak where she has received amazing care, but unfortunately due to the severity of staph infection and antibiotics -my mother had a reaction that almost cost her, her life. She went into respiratory failure. She flatlined, but they were able to revive her and was placed on life support for several days.
Since then, she has been taken off of life support, but she still remains very ill and weak. We don't know when she will be discharged from the hospital or if that's even a realistic goal for the near future.
Due to the negligence of St John hospital, they have caused my mother to almost lose her life, not be able to work (hairdresser) since they have damaged the nerve endings in her hand where the multiple surgeries were performed from how deep the staph infection had gone in her hand and now she is facing foreclosure on her home and may be homeless once she is able to leave Beaumont.
I don't believe I can save her home at this point, but what I am hoping for is to raise enough money to get her into a small apartment or some place that will be manageable with her now being oxygen dependent and having many underlying health issues.
