Keep the Kindermusik Playing!

Hello friends and families,
I’m sending this out in support of a local business that is near and dear to our hearts: Kindermusik with Emilie. In Kenosha we are still reeling from the pandemic when hit with very difficult times as we struggle with the impact of injustice and emotional and physical aftermath. Kindermusik is near the hardest hit Uptown neighborhood, investing in a community they serve in so many ways. This little music school nurtures children’s hearts, minds, and spirits in an inclusive environment, and models generosity including offering free classes to children in foster care.
Here is their story in their own words:
“We’re reaching out to those who know and love us for help. The past six months have been unimaginably difficult for many small businesses, and Kindermusik with Emilie, a local family-owned music school here in Kenosha, Wisconsin, knows this firsthand. The global pandemic has forced us to adapt and adjust in ways we never anticipated, driving our operating costs up while watching our enrollment numbers plummet by more than 60%.
We’ve worked harder than we ever have in our 10 years of being in business to keep our dedicated staff employed, our family’s bills paid, and to continue offering the community we love our award-winning music & movement classes in new and creative ways. On top of all of that, the recent unrest and uncertainty in our community has only compounded our struggles, forcing us to cancel classes and music lessons and to board up our building (at the cost of $1500!) to protect our business that we’ve worked so hard to build over the past 10 years. Everybody needs some help sometimes, and as hard as it can be to do, we’re asking for your help now.
Although this certainly is not how we had hoped or anticipated celebrating the tenth anniversary of our business, we are confident that together we can “get by with a little help from our friends” and continue offering our movement & music classes and private lessons to the children and families of our community for many more years to come. Thank you for your love and support!”
