Internship in the Philippines

As part of my graduation requirement for my Master's program I have to complete a policy related summer internship.  I have been fortunate to have been accepted to a position with the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines.  This is a benefiical experience for me professionally and for my identity as a Filipino-American.

Sadly this internship is unpaid.  I have been lucky to connect with the embassy to relieve some financial strain but my applications to many of the funding sources at my University have been denied, leaving me below my intended mark. As a first generation college/graduate student this creates a serious dilemma for me.

I'm not the kind of person to do this, but this opportunity is important to me in many ways.  Please support me in any way that you can.  Any funds I raise will help me purchase neccessities in the Philippines, cover travel and medical expenses, and will support other basic functions during my stay.   

I have one month till I leave and am grateful for any support possible.  I have never had the opportunity to complete an internship in the past as I have always worked over the summer.  Please support me in this endeavor to complete my education and to develop me as a person.
