24 Hours of Golf 2018

Tax deductible
Friends,

I hope this message finds you well…

I am reaching out because, as many of you may already know, I am planning our 7th Annual 24 Hours of Golf Fundraiser this upcoming June 2nd/3rd at MGA Links in Norton. I will start playing golf on Saturday, June 2nd at noon and will continue to play for 24 straight hours in an effort to raise as much money as possible for junior golf in our area. The Ultimate Golf Marathon! Over the past four years we have raised over $125,000 to help fund free golf, lessons, tournaments, equipment, memberships etc. So essentially any child from the surrounding area can pick up the game of golf at no cost to their family regardless of their financial background.

As many of you know the game of golf holds a special place in my heart and has had a tremendous impact on my life. I come from a family where my parents were divorced at a young age and golf (like many sports can) provided me an outlet to stay out of trouble and learn a game that I could enjoy for the rest of my life while learning some of life’s most important lessons! I even met my beautiful wife Kellie at Highland Country Club in Attleboro so to say I owe the game more than it owes me is an understatement….

We've been fortunate to have New England Patriots Devin McCourty along with several of his teammates when we've completed the 24 hours of golf to participate in putting, chipping, long drive contests while also throwing a few footballs around with anybody that decided to stop by. Devin is looking forward to being part of our charitable efforts again this year and will be at event with some other special guests!

I would ask you to please consider making an electronic donation at the link below to help keep children off the streets or playing video games and on the golf course learning valuable life lessons.

I completely understand everyone has their own charitable endeavors and that is what makes every cause so unique and special. For myself, this is the one that means everything to me so any consideration you can provide is and will be appreciated more than you ever know.

If you would like to mail a check, all donations can be made out to the Attleboro Recreation Department and mailed to:

Check out the article The Sun Chronicle ran a few years ago that provides a little more detail on the event along with some pictures of the kids that participated with the Patriots that were on hand.

As I say every year I can’t thank you enough for the continued support as you never know when the golf bug is going to change someone’s life for the better forever.

Best,

Mike
