24hr Badmintonathon at Riverside Leisure Centre

Hi, I’m Karen, the Badminton Coach at Riverside Leisure Centre in Morpeth. What started off as a one off event 12 years ago has become an annual date in our badminton diaries, thanks to Covid, I haven’t been able to organise this for 2 years , but it’s back and I’m hoping to have lots of people join us when we take on the challenge of keeping the shuttle “live” for 24hrs!

To date as a club we have raised over 24k for local charities from these events, so I’m delighted we are able to support another fantastic charity. This year we will again be supporting 4Q Cancer who have pledged to raise 10k for the Dragonfly Cancer Trust, who give support and help to terminally ill young adults and their families.

The day itself will start at 9am on Saturday, 16th July and will run until 9am Sunday 17th July. There will be a cake stall in Reception at Riverside on Saturday and other fundraising activities. Every penny raised will be going to charity.
