Michelle Navarrette- Lyme Disease

Michelle found out she had lyme disease back in June. Insurance companies DO NOT COVER the majority of lyme treatments. And it actually only covered the first month. With little covered by the insurance companies, Michelle and Reuben have racked up allot of debt due to the treatments. She is still working hard to pay for the treatments that she has to have about 4 times a week. She has had a port put in her chest where she receives the IV treatment. It can seem like an endless road, but their faith carries them through.

Michelle began having extreme neurological issues accompanied by constant muscle and joint aches and pains, numbness in her arms, legs and face, forgetfulness, vision issues and sensitivity to foods that never existed before. She has to give up her sweet tooth, because this causes swelling in her joints. She is now on a strict diet to help her with effects of the disease. Michelle’s chronic fatigue is intense and she bounces back and forth between insomnia (sleeping few hours a night) at times wanting to sleep an entire day. But she can’t sleep, because she has to push through the day and her work to cover expenses. With the symptoms described above, coupled with sensitivity to heat and cold, nausea, tension headaches and increased anxiety. It has been rough on her.
