Help Zoo Disaster Response (ZDR3) Help Zoos

Donation protected
The Zoological Disaster Response, Rescue and Recovery (ZDR3) team, is made up of several zoos and wildlife facilities in Texas and surrounding states and headquartered at the Fort Worth Zoo. ZDR3 immediately deployed two teams to two zoos in the wake of hurricane Laura. A team from Fort Worth Zoo was deployed to Louisana Purchase Gardens & Zoo and a second team from Animal World & Snake Farm Zoo was deployed to Alexandria Zoo where they joined teams from Audubon Zoo and Baton Rouge Zoo, additional teams from San Antonio Zoo and Indianapolis Zoo have been recruited and are deploying as there is still much work to be done. ZDR3 needs funding to continue support zoos following a natural disaster. ZDR3 was created in response to the overwhelming need for disaster support among animal facilities following Hurricane Harvey in 2017. It was clear then that coordinated communication rescue and recovery efforts were needed ahead of future natural disasters. ZDR3 is designed to funnel disaster relief calls for help to one central command center. The Command Center coordinates and deploys recovery teams, assets and resources to damaged facility in need of assistance, and also documents and measures outcomes. Donations will be used for administrative and overhead expenses that are currently being covered by ZDR3 Responders. Please consider donating to ZDR3 so we can continue the important work of supporting our colleagues and the animals in their care. We have two different anonymous donors that have generously agreed to match donations dollar for dollar up to $1,000.
