Skip's Medical bills and recovery

My name is Melissa and I am setting up this page to help out. The following has been described by Skip's wife Marty who has been so overwhelmed by the circumstances. She is trying desperately to get answers and coverages from insurance companies, Finding out that their coverage is very minimal. This is their story: Skip was in an accident on Tuesday May 10th. He swerved to keep from hitting a fuel tanker truck that was stopped in the middle of the highway. He went through the ditch, across the railroad tracks, through a fence, and split a telephone pole in half. It took the Jaws of life 20 minutes to cut him out of the car, hes been told, he is lucky to be alive. His left jaw is shattered, he may need multiple surgeries to have it repaired. Several teeth were knocked out, and remaining ones are loose. His right clavicle is broken in multiple places. Both knees are extremely swollen and sore. He cannot bear weight on his legs, and may have a hairline fracture on one knee cap. Several Cuts, bruises, and contusions all over his body. It was an open fracture with a wound on the left side of the face that was stapled shut. He was seen at the st. Mary's ER, then transferred to the OU trauma ER, then sent home to rest until the swelling subsides so they can begin surgery. (Because their insurance would not cover non-life threatening hospital stay) Right now he is at home, needing 24 hour a day care. He cannot walk, dress himself, eat, or anything. Marty has taken off of work to care for him 24 hours a day for now, but cannot continue to stay home. He may need several surgeries to repair the broken bones, and then physical rehab afterwards. His short-term disability will only cover about 50% of his regular income. Marty is a teacher, but needs to find a second job this year, to help with the bills. She is afraid of who will care for him in her absence though. They need money to help cover medical bills, transportation to and from the doctors appointments in Oklahoma City, nursing care or care at home, and miscellaneous other expenses since his income has been reduced so greatly.
