Rootead is a 501(c)3 organization in Kalamazoo, MI. Our mission is: Birthing Justice & Body Awareness.
We do this by engaging in the community through classes, workshops, events and programs that have a strong focus on family enrichment.
We are raising money to pay for deposit, first months rent and insurance on our new studio.
Deposit- $600
Summer Rent for June and July- $600
Insurance-$900
Justice begins at birth, we are working tirelessly to reduce the African American infant mortality in our county. We will be hosting ICTC (International Center for Traditional Childbearing) in July to train doulas of color to advocate for our community women that are most disenfranchised.
Body awareness is so important, when you know your body, you can start to focus on your mind, the body is a distraction of the soul's work. We offer yoga, dance, nutrition and lifestyle education to pregnant women, youth, elderly and families.
Our demographic is low income families of color, and we strive to make all of our offerings affordable and accessible to all.
This work has to be done to heal our collective community. We won't ever stop striving to become a resource for all.
We can do this!! We need your help!
Many many thanks!
