Help Keith With Housing Cost
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser to assist Keith Baxter who is in need of housing and relocation assistance. In March of 2020 Keith was in the ICU at San Joaquin County Hospital with the Coronavirus. He spent almost the entire month of March in that ICU and at Saint Josephs Hospital. He was released from San Joaquin County Hospital and our family was told by Social Workers he would go to respite. Instead he was released to the streets without a cell phone in the rain and IN climate weather. He wandered around and someone called 911 and he was taken to Saint Josephs' Hospital and treated for Heart and lung failure. We were again told he would be sent to respite and because he is an adult they only gave us basic information.
He was sent to a shelter a place we did not want him to go and the next time we heard from him he had been arrested. At the shelter he was attacked by 4 people and when he fought for his life and won he was arrested. He lost his income and housing while he was incarcerated and we are in need of funds to assist him in getting housing. Keith is in need of support so that he can move to Alameda County with his family. It is extremely difficult for the formerly incarcerated to find housing especially when they have no income. In order for him to live with his family we will have to have first and last months rent and to purchase a bed and other necessities that he lost since being incarcerated. Keith has physical disabilities due to the coronavirus and has mental health issues. We do not believe he will survive on the Streets. Like most mentally ill persons Keith has no history of violence and is of no threat to the community.
Your donations will help Keith in his transition.
