Nadine’s Chemo & Radiation Fund

Dear friends and family,

I'm Rachael, a good friend of Nadine's here in Sydney, Australia. Together with friends we're raising money to help with the costs of  our lovely friend Nadine's chemotherapy and radiation treatments. In March 2016 she was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph nodes.  She needs a total of six rounds of chemotherapy followed by approximately three weeks of radiation to get rid of a sizable tumor near her heart.

Nadine is originally from Canada but moved to Australia in 2013. Because she's not a permanent resident yet she's not eligible for Medicare. She has private health insurance but it does not cover the cost of chemo nor many other services (like scans) which are only partially covered. Radiation is also only partially covered. If you’re wondering why she didn’t go back to Canada for treatment, she was too sick to fly the 24hr+ journey home, and having been out of Canada for so long she didn't have Medicare in Canada anymore. So she finds herself in a situation where she's not eligible for Medicare anywhere and private insurance has failed massively. Her final bill is going to be about $22000 just for chemo and radiation. Any financial contribution would be massively appreciated. It will help pay for her R-CHOEP14 chemotherapy which is the bulk of the financial burden plus the costs of radiation, CT scans, x-rays and blood tests.  All money raised will be transferred directly to Nadine.
