70 plus Cats need our help.

Paws Alternate Bridge and myself were asked to help with 30+ cats who were all living and breeding in an older gentleman’s home. When Aimee described to me what was going on and how she was trying to help, Paws Alternate Bridge had to help her with her efforts. With being such a large case, it is going to take more then our small rescues to help. Aimee has partnered with "Here to the Rescue", “Paws Alternate Bridge” and a couple other rescues to try and get this situation under control. We have a few resources and it is a start. What we still need: -Funding to help cover Vet Costs, Food, and Litter. Aimee is currently working with “Here to the Rescue”, and they have been able to help get those costs down (Huge shout out to the Rescue). -Foster homes for a pregnant female cat due soon, adult cats, and kittens, until they are able to move on to loving homes. -Farms willing to take feral and/or cats not suitable for indoor living. A message from Aimee: “I was contacted by an individual who knew I formally worked for a vet and am an avid cat lover. She told me about a situation 20 minutes from where I live about a disabled older man living in a house with 15 to 20 cats (that is the amount we thought we were working with). I went over to the "cat house" and this man brought me out 5 kittens and 9 adults. 14 cats were brought to my house with "many more still inside". As you can imagine the house is very dirty (that's putting it lightly). I was not allowed in the house due to what I think is embarrassment. At this point I knew I was in over my head and couldn't do it alone. I wasn't working because of Covid19, so any money spent was coming from my own savings. I reached out to anyone and everyone with so many great resources turning down the help I needed. Until 3 local rescues and organizations offered to step up and help. Wendy, with Here to the Rescue (HTTR), Kate, with St. Croix Animal Friends (SCAF), and Anna, with Paw Alternate Bridge (PAB). Together we made a plan to help this man and his cats out. A great team in the making. I scrambled to get huge dog kennels to keep these cats in until we could find them a place to go. Wendy (HTTR) is taking whoever else we get out of the house, Kate (SCAF) came and picked up 2 adult males with more going with her soon, and Anna (PAB) took the 5 kittens and taking more as funds and homes become available. Making room where we can to house these poor babies." This is a task a single person can not take on alone. Aimee has already taken 14 cats and kittens out of this house and brought them home to her garage. Here they have been getting more attention, socializing, and receiving care they need. They get fed soft food twice a day by hand, fresh cat litter, dry food, and water. They have nice soft beds to sleep in and huts to hide in l, when they need to feel that little extra security. However, there is still another 15+ cats still in this house needing help. This Take a Village. We appreciate any and all support. We can’t do it with out you.
