Hello everyone, I have a condition called Diabetic Gastroparesis
Diabetic Gatriopareis is paralysis of the stomach and it causes severe nausea, pain and vomitting. I can no longer eat. The food just sits in my stomach and starts to rot and thats when the body starts to reject it.

I am a 37 year old wife and mum unable to eat. I have 2 gorgeous girls and an amazing supportive husband but it has been very hard for us. I have been ICU twice in 6 months and hospital many times. I can't make plans and half the time I more miss out on a lot of family and friends events. I can't NOT work these days you need a double income. Things are now harder than ever and I have had to let go of many clients I could not physically go to so that alone has made things financialy difficult.
I am now on a feeding tube which goes in my nose bypasses my stomach and goes directly into my small intestine. I feed for 16-18 hours per day over night. It is hard and with the feeds there are also complications.
The cost of maintining my insulin pump and the feeds as well as medication monthly is a lot.
There is no cure for my illness but there is a gsatric pacemaker that is surgically placed into the stomach muscle and it gets the motility of the stomach moving again and that is my next goal. The machine is not an overnight fix and there are no guarantees and it will be another 6-12 months before I notice it working if it does work for me and it's my last option before surgery where they would put a peg in my stomach which is where I would connect my feeds to but being diabetic the risk of infection scares me. Everyone I have spoken to who has this machine has said they are now 80% better and are back to work and eating again. This is my dream!
You see my gorgeous family above; I just want to do the normal family things with them. Take them to school, Go watch them dance or play soccer, Take them for
Lunch, go on a Holiday with out being soo scared or getting sick. Not be afraid to make plans.
Please help me achieve some normality. I don't want to feel like a burden anymore. I want to take a chance without the pressures of debt.
Thankyou for listening, and I pray there are people that can help me. I will fight this and do my best to be as "normal" as possible and enjoy life again.
Thankyou and much love.
