Hello, my name is King Williams and I am a journalist and documentary filmmaker here in Atlanta. Like many people, I myself did not vote early in the initial Georgia primary in March of this year.
Like many people, I waited until June of this year to go vote in the Georgia primary. Like many people I saw an unusually large amount of people waiting to vote in June of this year. Many of these people could not wait in long lines and had to leave it somewhere just simply hungry. So I got in my car and decided to meet up with three people I went to college with to help give people pizza, water, and soda while they waited at the polls.
Because of donations from people we were able to feed hundreds at several different polling sites within the city of Atlanta. This is pretty simple we want to get pizza, water, soda, and maybe even hot chocolate to people who will be at the polls in November. What I’m looking for is help to buy these items or take in-kind donations that could be used as well to help feed people who are likely to be stuck in long lines to vote this year.
The money will be going to the following: -Pizza (obviously) -Water -Soda -Hot Chocolate -Coffee -Paper Plates -Hot Cups -Cold Cups -Ice -straws -napkins -Coolers -Gasoline -Folding tables -pop-up tents -portable lights -garbage cans -garbage bags -flashlights -batteries -portable phone chargers -gloves -masks -hand sanitizers -disinfectant spray -disinfectant wipes -pickup truck -and whatever else that we are missing And if any of these can be donated, please message me as well.
I can be reached on Instagram and Twitter @IAmKingWilliams.
