Quill's top surgery!

Hi! My name is Quill, and I'm a disabled, non-binary, trans-masc person, who makes costumes!

I'm fundraising for my top surgery. I have already got the Gender Incongruence diagnosis, but I need help getting to the next step of my journey.

I have been out as non-binary since 2018, but closeted for years before that. I was in an unhealthy relationship, where I was not safe, or able to be who I am.

I'm not afraid to be myself anymore.

Top surgery is essential to me, as I currently have a lot of difficulty with gender dysphoria. It affects me wanting to meet my friends, family, and even going to my pharmacy to pick up my medication.

Binders are impacting my physical health - the many hours of wearing them causes backache for most individuals, however, I also have Ehler-Danlos Syndrome. The compression and pull on my shoulders create even more pain for me daily. Some days are impossible for me to wear a binder at all because of the amount of pain I am in, and I know a binder will only make it worse.

When those two things combine together, it creates a pretty miserable, isolating experience.

Whilst I know surgery won't solve all of my problems, alleviating gender dysphoria, and the need for a binder, would be (quite literally) a huge weight off my chest and my shoulders.

The funds raised are all towards surgery, travel, and pre-op consultations. The surgery itself is estimated at £9,300. Each consultation needed is £175. Travel to the clinic for face-to-face appointments is £35.

Any support towards this goal is hugely, hugely appreciated. I really hate to be asking for help, but being self-employed, with a disability, I can not see any other way I can afford this surgery.
