3rd Annual - Kits 4 the Homeless Campaign ! Sharing this post would be greatly appreciated! Oct 10th is World Homeless awareness day! I know it’s a little early to be talking about Christmas , but I really wanted to get a head start on my 3rd Annual Kits 4 the Homeless campaign 2020. Last year I was able to prepare over 100 emergency kits for the homeless and hand them out in person 1 by 1 on Christmas Eve at the Shepard’s of Good hope and around the downtown. Core here in Ottawa, Ontario. This year I will be donating 50% of my sales towards purchasing items needed for these kits the whole month of Oct, November and December! My hope is to make at least 150 - 200 kits to give out this year! I was truly hoping that some of you thru the magic of Facebook might be interested in sending in a Christmas card with a message of encouragement and hope for the New Year to the special person who will be receiving the kit on Christmas Eve. Sometimes a handwritten message with kind words can do so much for a person living a difficult situation, especially this time of year! I figured I have such an amazing following and customers from every end of this beautiful country and abroad that it would so nice to gather cards from all over the place. I am also collecting the following items for the kits. If you or anyone you know might be able to help me out with a donation of any of the following items I would really appreciate your help! Hats , Scarfs Gloves Socks Hand-warmer packets Travel size shampoo Razors Soap Toothbrushes and Toothpaste Female hygiene products Snacks - granola/protein bars / chocolate bars Deodorant Packs of gum 5$ Tim Hortons Gift cards Dollar Tree gift cards ( they sell hats, gloves and scarfs for 1.25$) Dollarama gift cards in any amount ( to be used to purchase items from list mentioned above). (option that can save on shipping charges). Monetary donations are also welcome through a Go Fund Me for the campaign. I will use 100% of these funds to purchase items mentioned above that are required to complete the kits. Receipts of all purchases made for items will be posted in the updates! I will be keeping you all updated on my social media @raynbands with how things are coming along and how many kits are being made as the campaign goes on.
