Helping Matt Chamberlayne

Thanks everyone for your concern. Here is all we know at this time. We'll post something more on FB soon. This is what's happened:
While out for a run Wednesday morning Matt went into cardiac arrest. A doctor happened to be running nearby and found him collapsed. His heart had fully stopped. The doctor started CPR immediately and called emergency services. When the flight crew got there they shocked his heart back into rhythm, as it would not beat on its own. They flight lifted him to a nearby hospital. He will be there for up to 2 weeks. His life almost ended today and it will be changed forever. He suffered oxygen loss to the brain, impairing his memory. We are so sad and scared. We are waiting for an AICD (automatic internal cardiac defibrillator) and then we'll see about how we can get home.
We don't have a set goal amount but we are asking for help. Medical needs, travel extensions and accommodations for a family of 5... there are so many new financial burdens. Anything will help. We are all grateful.
