Wally Triplett's Health Care

Donation protected
Wally Triplett was the first African-American ever drafted into the NFL. He was a friend and contemporary of Jackie Robinson and Jesse Owens. But unlike those legends, Wally has spent his adult life in relative anonymity. And now, at age 90, he is struggling simply to pay for his basic health care needs, and to live out the final chapter of his life with dignity.

My name is Nancy Triplett-Edmunds. Wally is my father. I wish that our family had the resources to give him everything he needs. But unfortunately we simply do not. That is why we have launched this campaign.

Many of you are reading this because of WE ARE, ESPN's 30 for 30 film that tells my father's story. If you have seen the film, you know that my father was not only a football hero, but World War II veteran, and a Civil Rights hero.

My family and I would be grateful beyond words if you could see it in your hearts to make a contribution towards Wally's health care. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for finding a place for Wally in your heart.
