Covaid

Covaid is a mutual aid platform that connects volunteers nationwide to those in need of support in their communities. Volunteers can offer a variety of services, including grocery delivery, medication pick-up, online tutoring, emotional support, and more. Then, others in the area can see all volunteers’ offers and request help. In addition to facilitating neighbor-to-neighbor volunteer matching around the country, the platform is also used by community leaders in several major U.S. cities for the management of local mutual aid organizations. 

Covaid is a 100% free mutual aid platform that intends to make the process of facilitating mutual aid a bit more streamlined. Our platform allows for optimized volunteer matching, automated notifications to volunteers, and an improved management of efforts through intuitive dashboards that keep track of the status of requests for local mutual aid organizations utilizing our platform. 

We have noticed that many of the requests we are receiving from those who need help also can not afford to pay for food or basic living supplies such as toilet paper. Many of our volunteers are paying out of pocket for these goods for those in need but this is not sustainable throughout the pandemic. We intend to use these funds to be able to subsidize the groceries for those in need nationwide. We also intend to allow our partners to use the funds to subsidize groceries for those in need in their local communities.
