Help Bre finish her first semester

I’m a freshman at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) currently working toward obtaining my Bachelor’s in Psychology. I have big dreams of becoming a cognitive behavioral therapist (CBT) & possibly starting my own business that aims toward helping minorities obtain free & effective therapy.
Recently a “hold” has been put on my student account due to a total balance of $11,352.27 that I have absolutely no way to pay off. This hold on my account will prohibit me from registering for classes next semester as well as receiving access to my transcripts for this year.
I know that this is quite a bit of money to ask for but I desperately need to continue my education as accessible & affordable therapy is something that I’m very passionate about.
A little bit about my personal life. I am a black, queer woman from the south side of Chicago. Before I moved onto UIC’s campus I lived with my mother and older brother. My mother’s occupation does not allow her to help with much besides books and making sure my head is above water, which I am eternally grateful for. Currently I am working at Amazon, securing as many hours as my classes permit. I am hoping to stick with Amazon for as long as possible since the company provides tuition reimbursement after about a year. As of now I am passing all of my classes. I put as much time & effort into my studies as possible.
Reaching my goal is inherently important to me because psychology has become a large part who I am. Through completion of my studies I can give back to my community in immeasurable ways. Anything that you can offer will not go to waste & I will be forever grateful for your contribution. Thank you.
