On May 22, 2016, after experiencing headaches for about a week, Vohn Woodfield was admitted to the hospital. The next day, doctors discovered that he had a brain aneurysm and performed emergency neurosurgery that evening. Early signs appeared promising, although there is still much unknown that lies ahead. One hopeful sign is that Vohn was able to speak a little following the surgery. It will take time to reveal the full extent of the effects of the aneurysm. Day two had a setback. The doctors discovered that Vohn experienced three small strokes following the surgery. The extent of potential damage from the strokes is unknown at this point.
Vohn is self-employed, so being unable to work and the lack of health benefits are a great concern. As you may already know, Gail and Vohn have made it a regular practice of helping and working for their family, friends and giving back to the community. Each year Vohn is quite involved with the Highland Fling in different capacities. Gail is a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and with that background has taught music, both voice and piano, to many in her community.
Each Christmas after singing to the world with the choir, the rest of December is filled-up with their family singing to their neighborhood. Perhaps you are one of those fortunate recipients and it has become tradition for your family to hear their angelic sonnets.
We invite you to support the Woodfield family in whatever way and/or amount you can. There is great need and what a wonderful way to show support and love to such a deserving family.
