Roman's Recovery
Donation protected
While on vacation in Denver, my brother Roman suffered a traumatic brain injury. He went to bed Saturday May 7th, and did not wake up the next morning. He was in the ICU on life support for a week with what doctors beleived to be severe brain damage; all his major organs were failing coupled with pnemonia. They gave him little chance of survival due to the amount of time he had been without oxygen. Although the doctors did not give us much hope, we never stoped praying or believing and each day we saw improvement in his condition. At first with small hand squeezes and eye blinking, to one word commands that soon turned to small sentences after the breathing tube was taken out. Due to safety concerns and cost, we are unable to bring Roman home to Arizona, but he was accepted to a rehabilitation facility in Denver. He will continue intense therapies in Denver for 6 weeks, working on regaining strength, mobility and independence. After the 6 weeks, we hope to bring him back home where he will continue therapy for another 18-24 months. During this time, Roman will be unable to work. Any donations will be used to offset the costs of the medical bills while Roman focuses on making a full recovery. We truly appreciate all of the prayers, kind words and support!
