My favorite nephew is graduating from high school and is ready to embark on a new chapter in his life. He has so much to offer the world and I'm hoping you will feel moved to contribute. Here's his story:
"Since moving to Pine River, and attending Pine River - Backus High School, I have found exactly what I want to do, and exactly who I want to be. Two years ago, I wanted to be a mechanical engineer. I didn't know much about it, but I knew I loved the sciences. One day my band teacher asked me to consider a career in music. He could tell music was my passion, and so I thought about it, and just like that I knew just where I wanted to attend college. Since I was a kid I've always remembered visiting Duluth, and I loved it. Recently, I received a letter in the mail from Lakes Superior College in Duluth and made my decision to enroll.
I will be attending the fall semester in 2016 for their Computer Information System program. From there I will complete my generals, and transfer to UMD in order to earn a degree in music education. I want to be a band teacher. For the last two years the band room has been where I've spent most of my time. I love the atmosphere, I love the fun, and all I want to be able to do is teach people what I have learned - not in a forced class, but to kids who want to be there. This Go Fund Me page has been created to support me in my next phase of life - college! These funds will specifically be designated for housing and food.
