I am my Brother's Keeper

Senior Correction Officer Michael "HIGGS" Higgins is a hard-working father of three who has been going through extremely difficult times over the past three years. We all go through difficulties at some point in our lives, but it is how we deal with them that defines our character. Unfortunately, many people give up or make excuses when hit with these tough times. Mike has chosen to do the opposite. He has chosen to fight and push forward one day at a time.
Due to an incident that occurred at work in early 2014, Mike was suspended from his job as a Sr.  Correction Officer with the State of New Jersey Department of Corrections .  In late 2015, during the holiday season, while working one of his many side jobs to support his family, Mike fell off a ladder and broke his neck. The benefits for his family have been completely terminated. Nevertheless, Mike continues to push forward.
