Doobies Bar Needs Your Help

Hello All, While I feel hesitant to start this fundraiser, I can't stand by and allow Doobies to become a sinking ship. As you know, Covid-19 has hit us (and so many others) hard, first closing our doors for a couple of months and now, with the weather getting cooler and winter quickly approaching, threatens our very existence. Doobies Bar has been a part of my life for virtually all of my adult life. It started out as my local in 1976. At the tender age of 22, it became my livelihood. My mom purchased it on Oct 28th, 1978 and as we approach our 42nd anniversary of it being in my family, Covid has made it harder to do take out business and even harder to pay our bills. We've unfortunately not been a part of any of the government loan packages thus far, as I've been trying to go for just grant money, rather than incurring another debt to what we already owe, but we haven't gotten any relief. I've set the goal at $10,000 as I feel that would get us some much needed funds for now, but that's just a start. I'm asking for your help because I don't know what else to do. Our customers have always been great at being supportive and we need you now more than ever. If you could help us out, it would be appreciated more than you know. The money raised through this fundraiser would help with paying our current & past due bills and hopefully, help us get through our slowest season. We've been selling take out through the door and it got us through the summer, but the cooler weather has made a substantial difference in business. We don't want to close the doors permanently... we're just not ready for that. So I ask those of you that have celebrated here with us- the birthdays, graduations, engagements, weddings, job promotions and our biggest celebration as the backbone of Philly Loves Bowie Week (benefiting Children's Hospital), or just raising a glass with us- think of the (hopefully) great times you've had here and help us do that same thing for many more folks in the future!
