Sam Grizzle’s Medical & Funeral Expenses

Hello, my name is Alexa Grizzle. Some of you may know my father Sam Grizzle sufferred a sudden massive hemorrhagic stroke on 10/18/20. He was fighting for his life but the bleeding progressed quickly and he was pronounced brain dead on 10/20. We made the decision to take him off life support because I know he would not want to live in that state. It was the hardest thing Ive ever had to do. He passed at 7:19pm. My father was loved by many in the poker community because of his quick wit and banter at the tables. But as the years went by his life changed, he played small games in an effort to support me & my mother Gina as much as he could. I had serious issues of my own which devastated him but he did everything he could to help me. I overcame my addictions with his support. He was so proud of me and I remember him saying to me about a month ago “I can die a happy man knowing you’re safe now”. I never thought I would lose him right after my 20th birthday. I am writing this at 11pm, I am heartbroken for my dad and I know the stress of hospital bills and funeral costs is going to be hitting my mom hard. In his last years my dad was unable to put money away for a disaster like this. If you knew Sam, please share any stories you have and know that any amount will help us greatly. Costs are much more than I ever thought they would be, as I have never done this before. Please help us give him the memorial he deserves. update 10/23: my mother & I thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for your help! we are almost able to cover the funeral costs, and hopefully we will be able to give my dad a burial. but we wouldnt be able to do any of it if the poker community didnt come together for him. thank you all ❤️
